It seems like all has changed since last time I was online can you still create group certificates for employees on quickbooks?

If you are reporting your employee's wages through Single Touch Payroll, payment summaries (aka group certificates) are no longer required. Instead, you will be lodging what is known as a Finalisation Event. This advises the ATO that there will be no more wages paid to the employees in that financial year, and your employees will access what is now known as their income statements through their MyGov accounts.

 If you are not enabled for STP, you will be able to generate payment summaries for your employees. This guide will walk you through creating the summaries in payroll and you can view a list of FAQs here if you will be doing so.
