Question

New client has given us acces to their quickbooks file and we can see wage expense journals although the when we clikc on the 'Employees' section there is no payroll ?

Hi kstannard,

 

This could be caused by a couple of different reasons and depends what exactly you do see when trying to access the Employees section. If the client has given you access as a standard or limited user, you will not have access to payroll - only Accountant users, Company Admins and Master Admin users can access this. You may see a prompt to set up payroll, and/or an error to advise you are not a listed admin. If so, you will need to contact the client as they will need to change your access to one of the three listed above. 

 

If you see an error asking you to enable cookies, you need to check your browser settings are set up correctly. We recommend using Chrome for the best experience with QuickBooks Online, and you'll need to have cookies enabled. Copy chrome://settings/content/cookies into the URL and select Cookies and other Site data. Ensure your setup is Allow all cookies, then restart the browser and sign back in to QBO.
