Question

1.We use classes for diff projects. Need to class the projects by funders too. Ideally I would love to enter my line item then choose the funder, then chose the project.

I dont think I can use subclasses for this as many of our project classes already have subclasses. What i need is two distinct levels of classification: first the funder, then the project, then maybe sub-project. Anyone encounter this situation? Thanks!

Welcome to the Community. It's essential to correctly record your projects to keep track of your books. QuickBooks Online is a great program that gives you the ability to easily track sales and expenses. I'd be glad to help.

At this time, the program offers classes to track your transactions by departments, product lines or any other segment of your business. I encourage you to find a third-party app to perform the task you are looking for. You can click the Apps tab in the left navigation menu and then select Find Apps. 

 

If you'd like to include the option of more classifications in QuickBooks Online, I recommend that you send us Feedback by clicking on the Gear icon at the top. This is sent to our Development Team to consider for future updates.
