can i change client to customer by mistake i add customer in client account

Welcome to Community!  Ensuring that you've added your clients and customers accurately is key in performing your bookkeeping tasks stress free.  QuickBooks Online has many great features that will enable you to complete your tasks seamlessly.  I'd love to help!

 

Although you can't delete a customer, you can make them inactive so they no longer appear in the list.   Here's how;

 

1. Open Sales and then Customers from the left menu

2. Locate the customer in the list

3. In the Action column, click on the ▼ dropdown menu and choose Make Inactive

You're all set!  You're ready to return to your books and add them as a client.  Here's a helpful guide for your reference.
