How can I add a credit card payment on my Canadian Quickbooks when both my account and credit card are in USD? QuickBooks displays an error message stating "The account is not set in the Home Currency. Credit Card Payment accepts accounts only in the Home Currency." I have enabled multicurrency in my QuickBooks, and both my checking and credit card accounts are in USD. What steps can I take to resolve this issue?

Hey there user70528,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! Thanks for reaching out to us here. QuickBooks Online is a great software that can help manage your business with peace of mind. I would be happy to provide some information.

At this time, QuickBooks Online Payments isn't compatible with multicurrency. Only Canadian payments can be accepted. I can see how having this option would be beneficial for you and your company. I encourage you to leave feedback by heading to the Gear icon and selecting the Feedback option. These comments are viewed and considered by our developers as they create new feature and updates for QuickBooks.

QBO doesn't recognize other currency for credit card payments so you will need to do a "transfer" of funds from your bank to your c/c.  I too am waiting for the day when QBO realizes that this is a much needed update 🙂

Create a TRANSFER (New - OTHER)

Select the account from (your bank account)

Select the account to (your credit card)

Select the Currency

Put in the amount, the date and any other details you want to capture.

Save and close.
