Need to change the category of payee from employee to supplier. How do I do that?

My hygienist started as an employee and then as an independent contractor.  I need to generate T4A and found some cheques to be issued under employee.  I need to change that to supplier.

it's vital that all your transactions are entered correctly for your books to be well balanced. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you pay your employees for your hours worked. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with these paycheques.

 

Since QuickBooks Online Payroll can't pay suppliers and contractors, you would need to reach out to the QuickBooks Online support team outside of the Community to complete a pay edit request to zero out the paycheques so you can then create expenses or cheques for the supplier in question. You can reach them using these steps:

 

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
