I can help you with extracting your General Ledger with Account Type in QuickBooks.

You can generate the Account List report in QuickBooks Online (QBO). It'll provide you with the name, type, and balance for each account in your chart of accounts. Once done, you can extract or export it to either Excel or PDF

Here's how to run the report:

  1. Go to Business overview, select Reports, then enter Account List in the Find report by name field.
  2. Click to run the report.
  3. Select the Customise button to add all the information needed.

Refer to this article for more information about generating and adding all the information needed in your report: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how you can show both Debits and Credits for each transaction in QBO: Create a report that shows Debits and Credits for each transaction

Let me know if you need further help with extracting your General Ledger with Account Type in QuickBooks. I'm always glad to help in any way I can. Have a great rest of the day!

Good day MJoy_D for quick response

Kindly see attached screen shot...

I have been using QBO since 5 years ago, and since that time until now, QBO has not develop an option to TICK " account type" while one extracting detailed ledger.

In the past 5 years, i always have to extract separate account list report, then do a VLOOKUP to fill in the account type....which is very time consuming.

It's my pleasure to help, Buck

I can see the importance of having the Account Type when running the General Ledger report. That would be a great addition to the current features that we have, so I’ll take note of it. I also encourage you to leave feedback from within the product.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Provide your product suggestion.
  3. Click on Next to submit feedback.

You can check out this article for more information about providing feedback to make the program better: How do I submit feedback?.

Here's also how you can change account types: Change the type of an existing parent account or subaccount in QuickBooks Online

I'm always here if you have additional concerns about General Ledger. I'm always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!
