You've come to the right place to fix your QuickBooks Online (QBO) performance, Domeau. This way, you can get back to running your business seamlessly.

Although QBO is a web-based service, its functionality depends on the processing power, RAM size, and speed of your device's Internet connection. A shortfall in any area can reduce its performance. That said, there's no need to truncate your account to improve the performance. You can visit this article for more details on what specifications you need for the best experience when using the program: System requirements for QuickBooks Online products.

For further information about this requirement and tips to improve your browsing experience with the program, see this article: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?

Another possible reason why your QBO is slow is because of the local internet cache and cookies stored in our browser. If you haven't tried it, I suggest accessing QBO through a private/incognito window. The private window will not save any history, making it an excellent place to identify browser problems. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once you can access your account flawlessly using a private window, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.

Furthermore, check out this resource for more troubleshooting steps in case you encounter unresponsive buttons inside the program: Why doesn't anything happen when I select a button or link?

Additionally, you can modify your reports in QuickBooks to show the correct data for each company and export them to save a copy of your data outside the program. Here are articles you can use to make changes to the filters and other information:
