Reports customer field used to only show customer name. now it includes customer code. how do i stop it from showing the code? it is throwing off all my excel docs

i have reports with a customers line item - they used to only display the customer name. however it seems to have changed without any input from my side to now have the customer code followed by the name in the field. this has thrown out all of my excel reporting as i have formulas that work of those names. how do i get the reports back to normal?

What are the columns enabled on your report before exporting it into an excel file? Also, I’ll appreciate it if you can provide me with a screenshot regarding this issue. It will help me get better insights into this matter and provide an appropriate solution.
