Deleting accounts in QuickBooks is a great functionality, mkamran12.

 

In accounting, it's not advised to delete a general ledger account with recorded transactions. Instead, consider inactivating it. I'll guide you on how to do it.

 

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and then Chart of accounts.
  2. Choose the account you want to delete or make inactive.
  3. Click the Account history drop-down arrow under the Action column.
  4. Select Make inactive.
  5. Hit Yes to confirm.
