Question

Cocacola has 28% IGST and 12% Compensation CESS. How do I enter this in to QB and how do I make the CESS appear in GSTR 3B report?

Hello there, @girishk1963!

You have the option to create a custom tax agency and rate so you can start tracking Cocacola CESS. But I'd still recommend contacting your account for guidance about you can enter these tax rates.

Nevertheless, here's how you can create a custom tax agency:

  1. Go to Taxes.
  2. Select Add Tax.
  3. Click Custom tax.
  4. Enter Cocacola as the name of your tax agency.
  5. Select the appropriate filing frequency.
  6. Click Save.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can create a custom tax agency: Create custom tax agency.

Once done, here's how you can create and enter a new tax rate:

  1. Go to Taxes.
  2. Select Add Tax.
  3. Click Tax rate.
  4. Enter Cocacola as the name of your new tax rate.
  5. Select Cocacola as the tax agency you recently created
  6. Choose where this tax rate applies for Sales or Purchases transaction
  7. Enter the tax rate.
  8. Click Save.

To add, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can enter a new tax rate: Create custom tax rate.

From here, you'll have to select the recently created tax rate in each line item of your sales or purchases transaction so it'll reflect the correct data on your report. You can read through this article to learn more: The GSTR3B (GSTR 3B) report in QuickBooks.

Lastly, I've got you this helpful article for ideas about how you can pay your taxes: How to record tax payments and match them with bank transactions?

If there's anything else that I can help you with, let me know in the comments. I'll be here to lend a hand.
