Question

Has anyone had a problem with paychecks showing on reports but not on the bank account in the chart of accounts?

I know a way how to reflect your paychecks in your bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @skraft.

Since the QBO International version doesn't have a built-in payroll functionality, did you use a third-party payroll service to enter paychecks? If you're using a different version of QBO, please let us know in the comments below so we can perform the necessary troubleshooting.

If you're using a third-party payroll service, the paycheck could be associated with a different account when creating a journal entry to record the paychecks.

    Here's how to verify:

    1. Click the Magnifying Glass icon and click Go to transactions search.
    2. In the Transaction Type dropdown, select Journal.
    3. Click the journal entry in question.
    4. Select the bank account associated with the amount under the Credits column.
    5. Click Save and Close.

Additional details are discussed in this article: Recording payroll in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, you'll want to create subaccounts in QBO to organise and generate more informative reports.

I'll be always ready to help whenever you have follow-up questions about working on your chart of accounts in QBO. Have a great rest of the day.
