Hello, I cannot add New category in QuickBooks online. It won't save. What to do?

When I add new category and save, it does not save and not add the new category.

To ensure that I am providing the right solution, could you please specify which section of QuickBooks Online (QBO) you are trying to add a new category to? Is it in the chart of accounts or in the products and services? A screenshot would help.

 

In the mean time, let's perform basic troubleshooting steps to determine what's preventing you from adding and saving the new category. 

 

If you're using mobile, here's how:

 

  1. Close and restart the app.
  2. Delete app data .
  3. Switch off and restart your device.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the application.

 

If you're using a web browser, here's how: 

 

  1. Launch your browser again.
  2. Open your QBO company using a private window.
  3. Empty the cache on your browser. 
  4. Add Intuit as a trusted site.
