Absolutely, dmendoza! There's a way you can run a Profit and Loss report that displays only parent accounts in QuickBooks Online.

There are also two different approaches that will simplify this task for you. Let's go over them one at a time.

First, you can use the Collapse feature to hide the sub-accounts. However, the amounts will still be added to the parent accounts. Here's how:

  1. Go back to your Profit and Loss report.
  2. Go to the left side of each parent account, then click the drop-down or collapse arrow to collapse the section.

Second, you can customise the report and manually select the parent accounts. Let me show you how:

  1. Open the Profit and Loss report, then click Customise in the right-hand corner.
  2. Scroll down to the Filter section and click on it.
  3. Check the box for the Distribution account, then click the drop-down list beside it.
  4. Scroll down and check the boxes of all parent accounts.
  5. Click Run report.
