Hi there, @query1.

It would be awesome to draft a journal entry (JE) and go to it later to make any changes or updates. However, you'll need to save the entry first to edit it whenever necessary.

Here's how to edit a JE:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the account you created the journal entry for. Then, click View register.
  3. Find the JE in the account register. The word "Journal" should be in the Ref No. or Type column.
  4. Select the journal entry to expand the view. Then. click Edit.
  5. Make the necessary changes.
  6. Choose Save.

QuickBooks adheres to the practice of maintaining an audit trail. That said, any modifications made to a transactions will be recorded in the Audit Log.
