Good day, Julie.

Let me help you show the investment activities in the Statement of Cash Flows report.

Before anything else, I'd like to know how you recorded the transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and what account you used.

Since the Investing Activities section is the company's cash flow statement that displays how much money has been used from making investments during a specific period, you'll need to set up an asset account in QBO to show this in your Statement of Cash flow report.

Here's how:

  1. Select Chart of Accounts from the Settings icon.
  2. In the Filter by name or number field, enter Depreciation.
  3. Find Depreciation in the Name column.
  4. Choose Other Expenses from the Account Type column.
  5. In the Detail Type column, find Depreciation.

Feel free to read this article for more info: Set up an asset account in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, record this through an expense transaction. Also, I suggest reaching out to an accountant for additional guidance to avoid discrepancies in the report.

You can also read this article to help manage your reports and show the columns you want: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to return here if you have additional questions about the cash flow statement. We'll be here to help. Have a good one.
