Hello,

I logged in to QBOA today only to find that a report that I've customized and saved as a favourite has gone missing. Where has the adjusted trial balance report gone?

These instructions to view the adjusted trial balance no longer work. What's happened?

Enter an adjusting journal entry

You'll make adjusting journal entries from your client's QuickBooks Online company file.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  2. Select the Go to QuickBooks dropdown and select your client's company.
  3. Select + New.
  4. Select Journal entry.
  5. Select the Is Adjusting Journal Entry? checkbox.
  6. Follow the steps to record the journal entry.
  7. Select Save and close.

Review adjusting journal entries

Run an Adjusted Trial Balance Report to review your adjusting journal entries. This report lists all account balances in the general ledger before and after you make adjusting journal entries. It also lists the total adjusting entries.

  1. In QuickBooks Online Accountant, enter Adjusted Trial Balance in the search bar. Or go to the Reports menu and select the Adjusted Trial Balance report.
  2. Select Customize to adjust the report as needed.
  3. Make sure the total debit balances equal the total credit balances.

Hey there icyoucpa,

Thanks for reaching out to us here. Making sure you're able to find reports that you have customized is important. I would be happy to provide some information.

After further reviewing this, I was able to customize and find the customized report in my account. If you're un able to find it in your account there may be an explanation. If anyone has access to your account, they might have deleted it on accident. You can see this if you head to the Gear icon and select Audit log under the TOOLS column. If no other users have access to your account, It may be browsing data on your system that is preventing the software from doing what it is supposed to do. Here are some steps to resolve issues that are caused by browsing data:

After verifying that no other user has made changes to the report, and if after trying these steps provided, you're still not seeing this report, I recommend reaching out to the support team outside of the Community. They'll be able to verify your account details in a secure setting, as well as view your screen to better assist you. They also have the necessary tools to create a ticket to get the issue resolved if they see fit. You can reach them by following one of these methods:

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook and Twitter

Thank you. I cleared my browser cache and signed back into QBOA. The adjusted trial balance report now appears as a standard report under "For my accountant" in the reports module.
