Hi,

Yes you can Make inactive or Active accounts in the chart of accounts

But if you have balance/transactions in those accounts it won't be deleted,system-generated accounts and accounts used by items.

for example Balance sheet accounts if you make an account to inactive account balance amount will be posted to Opening Balance Equity account

Move to the Left navigation pane Accounting > Chart of Accounts > move to the header section of the Chart of accounts right top click the small gear icon > dropdown menu Other section checkmark Include inactive > now move to the relevant row under the Action column click Make active.

Comment back for further clarifications.

Here's how to activate an account;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ in the top right of your QuickBooks Online dashboard

2. Select Chart of accounts

3. Click on the small above the Action column

4. Checkmark Include inactive

5. Locate the account you want to reactivate

6. Hit Make active in the Action column

That's it!
