Question

Can I have a corporate year-end on the 15th of a month? Using Quickbooks On-Line version. I can only find an option that starts on the first of a month?

Hi ricerv,

I'm happy to learn you're using QuickBooks Online as your program of choice when it comes to managing your business. The program is designed to help you stay organized while you work on multiple tasks. I'd be glad to share more info about the year-end in QuickBooks.

In QuickBooks, you can go as far a changing the fiscal year date from the first of the month. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon > Account and Settings > Advanced First month of fiscal year. From this screen, you're also able to edit the date you'd like to close your books. This prevents any changes to transactions dated earlier than the closing date. Based on what you've described, you're on the right screen, however, the option to change the date to start of the 15th of the month isn't available. I know how useful this option would be to you and your business and I recommend sending this as feedback to  our engineers. To do this, click the Gear icon > Feedback

Let me know if you have other questions. I'm here to help. :)
