Hi there userbasik81-gmail-,

It's important that all your transactions are entered correctly for your books to be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help keep track of sales and expenses so you can see the profit of your business. I can help you find a report that can compare profit and loss between two years.

One report you can run, with some customizations, would be the Profit and Loss year-to-date comparison report. This report can be found by going to the Reports tab and then looking under the Business Overview subtitle. To customize it to show this year compared to last year, you'll need to change these two settings at the top of the page:

  • For the Report period. select This Year
  • For the Compare another period, you'll need to remove the checkmark beside Previous Year-to-date (PY YTD) and select Previous Period (PP) instead. The first column will show this year, then the second column will be the one of last year.

Once you've made these changes, click Run Report to see the years compared.
