Can the system put funds into the uncategorized Asset account in error? I have an AR payment placed in this account, can someone tell me how to transfer it out?

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online provides options for completing your daily bookkeeping goals.  It's important to record transactions accurately to ensure your accounts remain balanced.  I would be glad to help!

In your situation, you could create a journal entry to move the funds to the appropriate account, or you can edit the original transaction.  Here's how;

1. From your Settings ⚙, select Chart of accounts 

2. Locate the account the funds were applied to and open the Account history, in the Action column

3. Click on the transaction and hit Edit (this will open the original transaction)

4. Make the necessary changes and hit Save.
