Creating Income by Customer Report with Custom Fields

Hello,

 

I am trying to create a custom report in our Quickbooks Online account. I am trying to create a report just like the Income by Customer Summary report that is already in Quickbooks Online. However, I would like to add custom fields that I created for our customers. When I open the Income by Customer Summary report, it does not allow me to add these custom fields when I try to customize the report. How do I create a report that includes all of the data from the Income by Customer Summary report (income, expenses and net income) while also adding columns for the custom fields that I created?

Hi JLloyd79,

 

Welcome to Community!  I appreciate your efforts in customizing the Income by Customer Summary report, in QuickBooks Online.  Although all reports are customizable, there are some limitations for specific reports.  However, there is a way to accomplish your QuickBooks goal, and I'd be glad to help!

 

To create a report that includes all of the customer data, along with the custom fields you've created, I suggest the Transaction List by Customer.  Here's how;

 

1. Open Reports, then enter Transaction List by Customer, in the search field

2. Enter the Report Period 

3. Select Customize and Group by Customer

4. Click on Filter, to see the available options

5. Checkmark the boxes for the information you want to show on the report.  This is where you'll see the Custom Fields you created.

6. When you're ready, hit Run Report

If you still don't see your custom fields on the report, click on the small in the top right of the report.  Click on Show More.  Checkmark your selections here.
