Customize Year-end Financial Statements

We currently use CaseWare with JazzIt to create financial statements from workpapers. We plan to move to QBO Workpapers. Our year-end statements includes a report "Statement of Earnings and Retained Earnings" This report contains the following sections

Revenue

Expenses

Earnings Before Income Taxes

Income Taxes

Net Earnings

Retained Earnings (Deficit)-Begnning of Year

Dividends

Refundable Income Taxes Paid

Refundable Income Taxes Recovered

Retained Earnings (Deficit)-End of Year

 

I want to have a similar financial statement report and could not find anything close in QBO reports. Please let me know if anyone created a similar report.

Hello Harish. Thanks for getting back to us here. I can see the benefit of being able to customize the report so it shows the sections you've listed above. At this time, those customization options aren't available. I encourage you to send feedback about this to our engineers. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are largely based on the feedback we get from users like you. Feel free to ask other questions, I'm here to help you get ahead with your work using QuickBooks.

Being able to customize your workpapers to include the information you need is key. I'd be happy to help go over the customization options for them.

 

QuickBooks Workpapers is a great feature made to save you time when fixing your clients year ends. While workpapers does have some customization options it you're currently unable to modify it to include all the report information you're requesting. While it is a free inclusion in your QuickBooks Online Accountant account I recommend trying it out and see if the customization options will work for you. To find out more about workpapers you can go over this article that explains it in detail.

 

You can also send feedback to our development team to include more customization options for workpapers by following these steps: 

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Once our developers receive your feedback they'll look into ways to possibly add this in future updates.

Hi Nick,

 

Thank you for your quick reply. Can you help with the customization options as the documentation doesn't say much. The challenge is more with the reporting aspect of QBOA. If I can have the ability to create a report that has the information I've shared in the screenshot, then I can simply add it to the financial statement PDF. I am trying to create a report that has the sections I've shared.
