Question

Does anyone know how I can rectify this? I enter 2 years instead of 3 years in business at setup. I am now having trouble uploading bank statement for 2019.

Hi gr82go,

Thank you for reaching out to Community.  It's important that you're able to track your transactions to a specific time based on your business needs.  QuickBooks Online provides an alternative option for uploading your transactions into your account.  I'd be happy to help!

Before getting started with the process, I'd suggest reviewing the date of the last transaction currently listed in your account, to avoid uploading any duplicates. Here's how to locate the information:

1. From the Gear icon in the top right, click on Chart of Accounts

2. Locate the account in your list and select Account History to the far right

3. Write down the date of the Last Transaction

You're ready to login to your Financial Institution and set your date range for the required elements.  Download the file in csv format and save it on your desktop.  Prior to uploading it into QuickBooks Online, you'll want to open the document and ensure it's mapped correctly.  I recommend using the 4-column format so your debits and credits are in separate columns.

Here's how to upload the transactions:

1. Go to the Banking or Transactions tab from the left menu.

2. Click the tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into

3. Select the ▼ dropdown beside  Link account and then Upload from file

4. Hit Browse and choose the csv file you downloaded from your bank and then click Next

5. From the Account ▼ dropdown, choose the account to upload the transactions into. Then hit Next

6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks and click Next

7. Select the transactions to import and continue by clicking Next

8. Choose Yes

9. When you're ready, hit Let's go.

If you hit a 'snag' during the process, here's how to resolve errors while uploading your transactions.

For any additional questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach back out.  We're glad to assist!
