Hi there, Nicole. Let me share with you some information about handling your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QuickBooks, you can group your accounts by creating parent and sub-accounts. To create a parent account:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Chart of Accounts.
  3. Hit New.
  4. Fill in the account's information.
  5. Click on Save and Close.

You can replicate the same steps for sub-accounts but ensure to mark the Is sub-account button and pick a parent account from the dropdown.

Once done, your accounts look this way.

On the other hand, you can select the Gear icon from the Chart of Accounts window to adjust or modify the columns or headers.

For more tips while handling your accounts, you can also check out the information from this article: Add to or edit the Chart of Accounts.

Just in case you want to import your accounts from a spreadsheet in the future, use this link as your guide: Import your chart of accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have any other follow-up questions while handling your chart of accounts. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!
