Hi PatriciaH1,

I know it's a busy time of the year for many bookkeepers, and I'm here to help make sure you have the steps you need for completing your year-end transactions in QuickBooks Online. Luckily, there are a number of resources right here in the QuickBooks Community, so I'll get you started with those.

From what you describe here, it sounds like you may be looking to complete a specific kind of year-end transaction. With a few more details, I'm sure I'll be able to point you in the right direction with working it out. It may end up being that working with an accountant is the way to handle what you're trying to do, but feel free to share more details about what you mean when you say you're trying to enter a Accounts Receivable entry with exchange gain/loss without a client.

If you simply mean you're looking for a report that shows the exchange gains and losses, you can check out the Realized Exchange Gains & Losses report or the Unrealized Exchange Gains & Losses report. You can customize the report so that it shows you the details you're looking for, even if you don't have a specific customer selected.

Here are those year-end resources I mentioned.

If you'd like to work with an accountant right away, you can take advantage of the My Accountant tab right in QuickBooks Online. You can either invite your accountant on as a user to help you right in your books or use the Find a pro to help button to work with you.

Don't hesitate to share more information here if you'd like some further guidance. Keep in mind that this is a public forum, so it's best not to share any sensitive details. I'm here to help however I can.
