How can I change the year of a Budget when creating one online?

It's awesome that you're working with a set of books that's planning so far into the future. I know budgeting is a key task for many businesses and being able to work with data that far into the future can be useful for many reasons. I'd be happy to go over this with you.

QuickBooks Online's Budget feature, available in the Plus package, is an easy-to-use feature that lets you work with budgets in a number of ways. As you can see, there are a few fiscal year periods to choose from, but they only go so far into the future. At this time, the 2026 fiscal year isn't included in that list as the feature isn't designed to give a full range of dates.

I don't have an exact date of when you'll be able to see for the 2026 year, but you're welcome to keep checking back in the program so that you can add it as soon as it's available. In the meantime, I recommend sharing feedback with our product development team using the steps outlined here: How do I submit feedback? The team uses feedback left via those steps to learn the ways that business owners and bookkeepers would like to use the software so that we can continue to provide you with the tools you need to manage your books.

If you'd prefer, you can use a third-party budgeting app to manage that part of your books. The Apps tab has a number of partner apps and there may even be a budgeting app that would work for you.
