Hi there Jeff19691,

It's important that all your transactions be correctly entered in order to view the accurate financials of your business. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you see the transactions done in your account through various reports. I can provide some information about transaction reports.

In order to generate a transaction report, you can do so by going to the Chart of accounts, then in the Action column of an account you wish to include in your transaction report, click on the option Run report. This will initially only give you a transaction report for the specified account, but you can customize it to show all accounts or some select accounts. To do so, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go into the Customize section
  2. Select Filter
  3. If you want to show all accounts, uncheck the Distribution Account option, and all will appear.
  4. If you want some select accounts to appear, but not all, click in the Drop-down menu beside Distribution Account, then check the ones you want to see.

Here are some other things to note about the report

  • You can change the reporting period by clicking on the drop-down below Report period and selecting one of the preset options, or Custom, then selecting the dates to the right of that menu.
  • By default, this report will be grouped by Account, but you can choose to group it by day, name, or others by clicking on the Group By menu
  • You can also choose which columns you'd like to show for each row by clicking on the Gear icon located immediately to the right of the Export and Print icons, then check the options you want to show, such as Date, Name, Transaction Type, Account, and Balance.
