Hi there,

Keeping track of the account balance of your fixed assets between 2015 and 2019 is a great way to stay updated on your business health. I can see why you'd like a concise report that would compare the balance of an account over the years. I'll explain which reports are available, as well as the limitations.

The best report for your needs would be the Balance Sheet Report. This report will show what you own (assets), what you owe (liabilities), and what you invested (equity). You can compare last year (or other specified years) with the year prior, but you're only able to compare two periods at once. At this time, you're unable to select a report overview of the last 5 years.

To compare two years side-by-side, follow the steps below:

1. Click the Reports tab, then select Balance Sheet.

2. Select your Report period (the first year you'd like to compare), and then select Previous Year in the Compare another period drop-down menu.

3. Click Run report.

That's all there is to it. I know it would be so convenient to be able to compare a number of years at once, so I'd suggest leaving feedback about this for our team by clicking the Gear icon > Feedback.
