Hi catherine15,

QuickBooks Online makes it easy for you to customize your user experience in order to make the most of your business bookkeeping. I know how handy it is to change the sort order of your Chart of Accounts list to best suit your needs. I'll explain how to do that in just a few steps.

Click the Accounting tab on the left navigation menu, then select Chart of Accounts to bring up your accounts list. By clicking on the column headers, you'll be able to reorder/sort the accounts list based on your needs.

If this type of reorder method doesn't provide the exact results you're looking for, I'd recommend submitting your feedback to our product development team for review. This way, we'll know what kind of improvements our users are looking for. To send your suggestions to our team, click the Gear icon > Feedback.

I hope this helps get you back on track. If you have any other questions, our tech support team would be happy to help.

Have a great day!

Hi Tina. I can see how beneficial it is to be able to sort your accounts by type. At this time, you can edit the columns you'd like to view on your Chart of Accounts. To do this, click the Accounting from the left menu > Chart of Accounts > once you're viewing the list of accounts, click on the small Gear icon which is next to the printer icon, and the pencil icon. From here, you can now filter how your columns appear. If you'd like to see other customization options, I recommend sending feedback to our engineers by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. Let me know if you have other questions.
