How do I create a new General Ledger account?

Hi Ted

 

From the menu on the left, under Accounting > Chart of Accounts, hit the New button.

Alternatively, as you're performing any entry, if you type in the name of an account you'd like to use, that doesn't exist, QBO will give you the opportunity to create it.

I have  account numbers to set up/use eg. 3-1100 shareholder Loan

when in the chart of accounts there is also 

Acct Type                     Name

Detail Type                   Description 

I have 20 new G/L's to set up all different types

Originally the G/L's were Set up as Names
