How do I enter budget information?

Brand new user here. Want to start my year by entering budget information that I can then track expenses against. The board has approved a figure for each expense category.

Welcome to the Community. It's essential you're able to enter your budget information the right way into QuickBooks. The program offers a hassle-free platform that makes it simple to navigate and record your budgets. I'll be happy to steer you on the right path so you can get back to doing what you love. 

 

In order to enter budgets, you'll need to be using QuickBooks Online Plus. Here's how to enter budgets:

  1. Navigate to Settings ⚙ and select Budgeting.
  2. Locate your budget on the list.
  3. Click on the Action ▼ dropdown and then Run Budget Overview report or Run Budgets vs. Actuals report.

I do not see Budgeting in my Settings.

 

I have a self-employed plan. But I still need to add Budgeting

Hello Mgurrl. Thanks for chiming in on this thread. The Budgets feature is available in QuickBooks Online and Desktop. I encourage you to send feedback about this to our engineers. You can click on the Assistant icon in the top-right and type in "submit feedback" then select Add a feature.
