Question

How do I get all the receipts I've uploaded into a Journal Entry that I'm doing to account for all my start up costs?

Hello jmpatriot10,

Welcome back! I hope things have been going well with your business since the last time you visited us here in Community. I'd be happy to help you out with this question of finding the receipts loaded into a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.

It sounds like you added a number of attachments to your journal entry as you were creating it, which is a great way to organize your information. To see those attached receipts again, there are a few of ways you can go about it. I'll outline them for you.

The first way to see your attachments is via the Attachments page. To access this, select the Gear icon in QuickBooks Online, then Attachments. This will bring you to a page that lists every attachment on transactions in your books, including what transaction they're linked to. If you have attachments that aren't linked to a transaction, you'll seem them here, too. Learn more here: Attachments in QuickBooks Online

Since there isn't a filter option on that page, the second option I have may work better for you. This option involves running a report called Journal. To run it, go to the Reports tab, then use the search bar to find the Journal report, which you can bring up by selecting it. The report shows you various transactions, including invoices, pay runs, and so forth since those also create a back-end journal entry (don't worry, this doesn't double your numbers). To filter for just journal entries or even a specific date, you can use the Customize option on the report. Here's an article that goes over how to customize your reports to see only the information you're looking for: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online

One final option I have for you is if you know the date or journal entry number. QuickBooks Online has a search option which can be easily accessed via the magnifying glass icon in the upper part of your account. You can do a regular search or advanced search to find the transactions you're looking for, using search terms like the date, the entry number, and more. This article explains: Search for transactions

That should get you on your way, but don't hesitate if you have further questions. I'm here to help!
