Another accounting name for these reports is "transaction journal by account".

Hi george-stephen-h,

QuickBooks is a powerful program which allows you to run reports that show vital info related to your business. I'd be glad to share more info on this and make sure you're on the right path.

At this time, running a quick report is currently unavailable in QB Online. The good news is you can run the Transaction Detail by Account Report and customize it to show the Class.

To pull up the report:

  1. Go to Reports on the left panel.
  2. Enter Transaction Detail by Account in the search box.
  3. Select the Report period, and click on the Customize button.
  4. Click on Filter to expand, and mark the box for Class.
  5. Select Run Report.

From here, you can now export the report to Excel by using these steps in this helpful article. I know how useful it would be to have that report and I encourage you to send feedback to our engineers by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are based on the feedback we get from users like you.

I hope this helps! In case you have other questions, feel free to contact our support team using this link here. Otherwise, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll be one message away. :)
