Question

How do you get a Journal Entry to reflect on your project costs? I put the project under "name" and can see it under "Transactions", but it doesn't reflect in the P/L

I'm doing the bookkeeping for a new home builder. I created a Journal Entry for the Trust Ledger that was sent to us by the lawyers. This included the sale price, the lawyer fees, and payouts for commissions and land fees. I entered the project name in the "Name" column while doing the entry and I can see it on the Transaction list in the project but it doesn't seem to be reflected in the Project Costs.

Hello bethanyvans,

Thanks for messaging us here. QuickBooks is a versatile program that enables you to enter and track your journal entries. I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction so you can get back to doing what you love.

Based on what you've described, I see you've followed the right steps to record the journal entry. The Projects feature allows you to view your journal entries from the Transactions screen on your projects. If you're not seeing the journal entries, I encourage you to clear cache and cookies on your browser. Clearing cache and cookies is a great way to clean your browser allowing it to work more efficiently. Here's an article that shows you how to do that: How to clear cache and cookies. If this doesn't work, I suggest using a private/incognito window to see if that works instead. Try this out and let me know what happens. In the meantime, check out this article here that shows you how to:
