How do you show the details of an account split on reports?

On transaction reports or General Ledger reports, we can select Split but it does not show the details on the actual report.  You have to go to the system and drill down to find out if the split is correct.

Hi there nancy-eld-dayone,

Thanks for reaching out about your reports. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to show you a variety of reports so you can see the different aspects of the financials of your business. I can provide some information about reports.

Certain reports show the entirety of a transaction as one entry in the report, with it marked as split if it affects multiple categories or line items, like the general ledger. Other reports, such as a balance sheet detail, divide up each line of a transaction instead of showing the transaction as a whole. For those like the general ledger, there isn't the option to edit the report to show the details of the split on the report itself, so you would need to click on the word Split to view the transaction details. I can see that being able to see the breakdown would be a feature that you'd like to see in the general ledger. I recommend leaving feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration when designing new features for QuickBooks Online.
