Hello sandra-details,

It's great to have you join us here in the QuickBooks Community! I see that you're using QuickBooks Online to work with your data, which is a great option for many business owners, so I hope it's a good fit for you as well. Knowing how to edit your transactions if needed is a vital part of working with your data and ensuring accuracy, and I can help you with this question about your journal entries.

The simplest way to get to where you can edit a transaction is to select it to open it up. For a journal entry, there are a few ways to open them again, such as through the Journal report in the Reports tab or by using the Advanced Search option through the magnifying glass icon at the top of your account. Journal entries are unique in that they don't appear in transaction lists in the Sales or Expenses sections, so using alternative methods to pull them up is the way to go.

Knowing where you've pulled up the journal entry that you're seeing an Action column would be helpful, but you should be able to simply select the entry from the list to open it up for editing. One thing to be mindful of is if your journal entry is linked to another entry, such as a payroll transaction. There may be a specific way that you have to edit the transaction in those cases, especially for payroll information.

To make sure you have the right steps to edit your journal entry, feel free to connect with a member of the QuickBooks Online support team using one of the following options to have a one-on-one conversation with a member of our team.
