Question

I am using journal entries to record my daily sales. How do I match my bank deposit transactions from debit/visa/mastercard to the journal entry?

Hey office131,

I'm happy to hear you're using the bank feed's full potential! QuickBooks Online is designed to simplify your accounting, so it handles most of the complex side of things in the background. Recording journal entries is a great way to take full control of this, while also having the ability to select any number of accounts. The system is designed to work well with all transaction types, and I'll be happy to help you get these matched.

The bank feed is focused on saving you time, and making your reconciliations and tax filings easier. Journal entries can be matched just as easily as other transaction types, as long as the correct bank account is selected and a similar date and amount are entered. If the appropriate journal entry isn't automatically suggested, simply click on one of the bank transaction's fields then select Find match. You'll be able to search for transactions within your specified date range. Feel free to get in touch with an agent for additional assistance with this.
