Question

I am working on 2020 but can't get any of the reports to print for 2020. How doo I make my "operating date" to be 2020?

Hello boydsbasics,

Tax season is upon us, and I know many business owners, bookkeepers, and accountants alike are starting in on working with the reporting from the 2020 year. It's important to me that you're able to run and print your reports for the dates you need, and I can absolutely show you how it's done in QuickBooks Online.

When you run a report in QuickBooks Online, it may default to a certain date or period, but the program also makes sure that you can change your date filters to see the details you need. There are a couple of ways to do this, including using the fields available in the upper section of the report page after you've pulled up the report, then hitting Run Report. The other way to change the date parameters is via the Customize button, where you can customize your report the way you'd like before hitting Run Report.

Once the report is run for the period you need, you should also be able to print for that same period by clicking the print icon. I recommend taking a moment to read the Run reports in QuickBooks Online article to see not only how to run reports, but also print, email, or export them as needed.

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes. If you're still having trouble with this, please feel free to share more detail about the steps you're taking and what's happening when you try to print. I'm here to help.
