Question

I have 3 companies I manage using QBO. One of the companies in QB lets me attach bank statements to my reconciliations. The other two don't provide that option.

The online help says to click "Attach" to attach the bank statement manually, but I can't se an "Attach" button or link anywhere on the page.

Hi allanri,

Attaching your bank statements to your reconciliations is a great way to keep track of your work. I want to make sure you're also able to do so on your two other accounts. I'll be happy to guide you with this.

After completing your reconciliation in QuickBooks Online, a pop-up message with the button "Upload Statement" appears on your screen to give you the option to include your bank statement file. You also have the flexibility to attach your file later on by following these steps: Go to the Accounting menu > select Reconcile > click the button on the upper right-hand side of the page that says, "History by Account" > locate your reconciliation on this page, and click on Attach to upload your bank statements.

If you don't see the Attach option, it could be due to a browser issue. Temporary internet files that accumulate in your browser can sometimes cause bugs in the software. To ensure your app or browser is running the program as designed, I recommend following the troubleshooting steps in this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online

Another good troubleshooting step to resolve these kinds of situations is to navigate in a private/incognito window or use a different browser compatible with QuickBooks Online. Here's an article with the list of supported browsers: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed

Some banks also have the option to import your bank statement directly in QuickBooks Online Plus or Accountant using the view statement feature. To see if you can benefit from this feature with your bank and for more details on how to use the feature, check out this article: Get bank statements directly from your bank when you reconcile

I hope this helps you get back on track! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.
