Hi there,

The complete list of accounts and balances in QuickBooks Online is located in the Chart of Accounts. QBO makes it simple to navigate these accounts, and add or edit the list as needed. I know it's vital to ensure you're only seeing applicable accounts in the list, so I'd be happy to explain how to remove one if you no longer need it.

To make an account in your CoA inactive, follow these steps:

1. Click the Accounting tab on the left navigation menu.

2. Select the Chart of Accounts tab.

3. Locate the account you'd like to remove.

4. Click the small drop-down triangle next to Account History and select Make inactive.

This will remove the account from the active list without impacting previously-entered information.

For more details about how to manage your Chart of Accounts in QBO, take a look at this article: Add to or edit the Chart of Accounts.
