Question

I have tried to set up a standard user without access to sales/income reports but it seems impossible?

Who can help me with this as I have called QuickBooks and they said its not possible. But there is no way you can allow your employees full reign of reports. I just want them to have access like we did on desktop for invoicing and receiving payments. Also does anyone have any luck with removing the dashboard for all users to see when they open QuickBooks?

Welcome back to the Community. I'll be happy to share more info about user roles in QuickBooks. QuickBooks makes it simple for you to manage your users using the user-friendly features.

 

Based on the info you've shared, I recommend looking into creating a limited user in QuickBooks. There are three types of limited users that can be added to the account;

  • Limited User (Views customers and sales)
  • Limited User (Views customers and purchases)
  • Limited User (Views customers and sales, plus suppliers and purchases) 

All the limited users on the account can view the dashboard. A way around this would be adding None user. This user can't use any of the accounting features in QuickBooks Online. They can submit time sheets. I encourage you to learn more about user roles by browsing this helpful article: User types and user permissions in QuickBooks Online. If you're looking for more specific restrictions, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback.

I dont need to create a  NONE user though. They need to enter and receive payments so that would be pointless to do that as then they cannot do what is required in their job description.

 

For 2 years people have been asking about that and I cannot believe that nothing has been done about it yet. ON the desktop version all of this was available and to limit  users access to areas.
