Question

I just migrated from Desktop and my sales and taxes are incorrect. I do not use the customer or sales portion of Quickbooks. I use a manual entry into a journal entry

Hi laurie-heartland,

Congrats on making the move to the cloud. QuickBooks Online is a powerful program that helps you keep track of your transactions. Don't worry, I'll be happy to point you in the right direction so you can get back to doing what you love.

Based on the info you've provided, it's important to note that sales tax won't convert for all transactions after migrating from QB Desktop. Some taxes will convert as journal entries or import only the list and balances. This explains why your sales and taxes are incorrect. I encourage you to check out the following article with more info about:

What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. In order to fix issues after migrating, check out the following article which has helpful info on

Feel free to reach back for help as you go through the article. I'll be one message away in case you have other questions. Otherwise, I wish you a great rest of the week.
