I'm looking to get the total number of inventory items showing on PO's, Invoices and sales receipts. Is that possible? Not just the total of each item.

I can see how important purchase orders are when ordering inventory items for your business. QuickBooks Online makes it easy to generate and send purchase orders to your suppliers. I'd like to shed some light on this feature for you.

When you Create purchase orders in QuickBooks Online, you'll enter both a Quantity and a Rate for each item that is being ordered. The system then calculates the total cost of these items in the Amount column of the form. You can see the quantity and rate of each item when in the print preview screen. There isn't a total for the quantity  or rate columns, only for the amount column. If you're trying to get the total number of inventory items already in your inventory to show on various forms, there is no way to do this. I recommend submitting some Feedback to our software development team when you have a few minutes to spare. This can be done from directly within your QuickBooks Online company file. Here's how:
 

1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
4. From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.
