Hello mandrin,

It sounds like you're using recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online's Plus plan. This is a great feature to further take work off your plate and leave it in the hands of the program, or, even when you're not leaving it fully in the hands of the program, it means less work for you when creating the transaction. This feature allows you to set up entries that you'll want to use later, and I can show you how to use the unscheduled recurring entry when you need it.

When you use an unscheduled template for your recurring entry, you're telling the program that you'd like to use this information more than once, but it's not on a particular time schedule. The program saves the entry information for you and allows you to easily use it whenever you need. Here's how you do that.

  1. Go to Settings ⚙.
  2. Under Lists, select Recurring Transactions.
  3. Under the Action column ▼, select Use to use the template as a starting point for a new transaction.

I pulled those steps from the following article, which has other helpful details about how this feature works: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online. If you're going to be using recurring transactions a lot, it'd be a good one to bookmark.

Give that article and the additional linked resources at the bottom of it a read and let me know if you have questions. I'm here to help. :)
