Hi drmunroe,

I know how important it is to keep track of customer information in QuickBooks Online. It sounds like your company deals with some really cool stuff! I'd be happy to explain how to save customer details in the system.

You're able to add customer information in the Notes section of their customer portal. This is a great place to save any information specific to the customer that you may need to reference later.

To enter notes in the customer portal, follow these steps:

1. Click the Sales tab, then select Customers

2. Click the name of the customer you want to add vehicle information for.

3. Click Edit

4. In the Notes tab, enter the vehicle information.

5. Click Save.

While this is a great way to store this information, it won't automatically pop up when an estimate or invoice is created. You'll have to reference the note first, then create your invoice/estimate.

I think what you're suggesting would be a great idea! I recommend submitting feedback about this to our product development team. They're always looking for new ways to improve the product. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon > Feedback.
