Job profitability / cost of billable time

In QuickBooks Desktop you can see plenty of reports at the click of a button. They are all made to help you save time while keeping you informed. The best way to get specific information such as the cost of employee time per job would be using the industry specific reports in the QuickBooks Desktop Premier and higher versions. In here there are specific reports based on the industry you selected such as contractor that shows you information like Job Cost Detail. To find these reports you need to follow these steps: Reports>Industry Specific>Contractor>Job Cost Detail.

If these reports don't show you everything you need then I recommend sending feedback to our developers by going to: Help>Send Feedback Online>Product suggestions. Once they get your feedback they will look into ways to include these features into future updates and versions.
