Question

Materials/inventory per Job

I was wondering is there a way to see how much material there is per job that is created from a bill by using items. Because my manager and supervisors need to know how much materials are being spent per job. I'm able to see a report of each material and what job it has, and all materials per vendor but I need all materials per job which is what I cannot find.

Hi there,

Working with inventory items is made simple and user-friendly with QuickBooks. Separating your material/inventory based on job is an awesome way to stay organized and informed on your stock. I'd be happy to explain how you can go about reaching your goal.

There's a few limitations when it comes to this type of inventory tracking in QuickBooks. If you have QuickBooks Enterprise and you're using Advanced Inventory, you may want to consider setting up job sites and transferring your material to each site accordingly. Here's an article you can use to set up and use Advanced Inventory: Set up Advanced Inventory.

In order to get a better understanding of what you currently have set up and what you're looking for, I'd highly recommend reaching out to our tech support team to discuss this in detail with an agent. I'm confident that this is the best method in order to get back on track.

Cheers.
