Question

My client uses Quickbooks Desktop as his POS system. At the end of the month, what report can I print that shows sales, and a summary by payment method (like Square).

Square prints a great report that shows total sales, and total money received by payment method. I use this to create a single journal entry in QBO, and then allocate the payments according to their clearing accounts. I can not find a similar report in Quickbooks Desktop. Or is there a better way to do this?

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  QuickBooks Online enables you to enter daily sales seamlessly, to keep your accounts balanced.  I would be glad to provide some insight here!

 

QuickBooks Desktop also provides the option to record the daily sales summary, when there's no need to track sales to a specific customer.  You can review the Deposit Detail report and customize it to filter to all accounts, so all payment methods will be in view.  Follow this link, to learn more about how QuickBooks generates reports.
