Can you change the settings so invoices show on the profit and loss statement?

Hi there peakman-ent-outl,

Knowing the profit made during a certain time frame is a key part of running a business. QuickBooks Online is a great tool that allows you to view multiple reports to see the various parts of your books. I can provide some information about the Profit and loss report.

One reason why some invoices may be missing from the profit and loss reports would be the accounting method selected when running the report. When using the accrual method of accounting, the sale is recorded on the invoice date, but in the cash method of accounting, the sale is only recorded when the invoices are paid. This may be why some certain invoices that are still unpaid or were paid outside of the reporting period aren't showing up in your report. In order to have all invoices created within the reporting period show up, click on the Customize option located at the top of the report and make sure that the Accounting method is set to Accrual instead of Cash.

If the invoices still don't show up, I recommend reaching out to the Quickbooks online support team outside of the Community. They'll be able to view your account settings as well as the transactions in a secure window in order to see why they aren't appearing in the report. You can reach out to them using one of these ways:

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat
Social Media: FacebookTwitter, and Instagram
